Abstract:

"Basics of Money and Assets" is a cycle of two, three-hour workshops offered by the Business Center for New Americans. Workshop I covers the basics of banking in the United States and discusses credit management, debt, spending, saving, and introduces the concept of assets. Workshop II focuses on educating clients on the benefits and responsibilites of acquiring assets, particularly home ownership. The program uses a combination of materials developed by Fannie Mae Foundation and the New York Association for New Americans, Inc.
